H. M. Gun boat Havock, Hong Kong, 25th October, 1864,

Herryking, arrived off Donlan Bay at daylight of the 15th but finding nothing in the Bay steamed on to Buckshine, noted Pirate Town on an island of the same name, about 10 miles M. E. of Trylon. On arriving off that Town I observed a Junk under a press of sail, about 1/2 a mile off, which on seeing the Havock, made sail across a very large but shallow Bay not marked in the Government Charts, in consequence of the water being so shoal it was three hours before I could overhaul her when I found the pirates had escaped to an adjacent island, leaving three fishermen on board who stated...
